Cold reduced, mild steel sheet is electrolytically cleaned and pickled to give it a clean surface before it is coated with a uniform, electrolytic deposit of zinc or zinc-nickel alloy. The plating processes control the coating thickness and can produce single-side and differential coatins as well as the usual double-side coatings.
